Acceptable Use Policy (AUP)
Permitted and prohibited use of the GrantCortex MCP server and API.
This policy is part of the Terms of Service and expands Section 5. Breach may lead to suspension / revocation of your account or key.
1. API key and account security
- Keep your tester/API key and password confidential; do not share or publish them (e.g. in a public repo or client-side code).
- A key belongs to one user/organisation; transferring, selling, or renting it is prohibited.
- If you suspect misuse, notify info@grantcortex.eu immediately and request a key rotation.
2. Prohibited use
- Automated scraping or bulk downloading of the server beyond normal MCP client traffic.
- Building a competing service by extracting GrantCortex data or our catalogue.
- Using the service to help produce infringing, misleading, hateful, or harmful content.
- Breaching third-party source licences (e.g. CC BY 4.0 attribution) when re-using obtained data.
- Any illegal purpose or breach of applicable sanctions/export rules.
3. Rate limits and fair use
The service applies per-IP and per-token rate limits. Circumventing the limits (rotating multiple keys, distributing calls, spoofing headers) or deliberately overloading the infrastructure is prohibited. Unfair load may result in restricted access.
4. No resale
You may not resell, redistribute, or repackage-and-sell data obtained through GrantCortex as a standalone data product to third parties. You may use the data in your own internal workflow, subject to the source licences.
5. No reverse engineering
You may not reverse engineer, decompile, or otherwise attempt to derive the service, MCP server, or catalogue, nor attempt to bypass access controls or rate limits — except to the extent mandatory law allows (e.g. interoperability).
6. Source compliance (pass-through)
The catalogue contains data from public sources under different licences (see the Terms "Data sources and attribution" section). When re-using obtained data you must comply with the originating source’s licence terms, above all any required attribution (CC BY 4.0).
7. Enforcement
On breach of this AUP, GrantCortex may — depending on severity — issue a warning, restrict access, suspend or revoke the key/account, and take any necessary legal steps in case of infringement.
